Rain Country is for sale
Nov. 2, 2019
Yes, this fine dining establishment has been on the market for several months.
I admit I have a problem with people who wear sunglasses in general and those who perch them on top of their heads or dangle them from their collars in particular such as the real estate guy pictured here. To me that looks pretty silly and urban fad-following. But what do I know?
I'd love to see the place become an indoor miniature golf course.

How foggy was it?
Oct. 19, 2018
It was so foggy that Simpson's smokestack is barely visible at 10:33 AM as seen from the front of the clinic!

Entrancing Entrance

The new sign inviting customers to Rain Country is terrific! It has a funky Old West welcome feeling to it that seems to reflect the positives of McCleary. Well done (which how I like my burgers).
Some locals prefer using the side door as a form of feeling part of an inside secret.
This is the first time I have noticed the restaurant no longer has outdoor tables in the front.

Happy New Year
Jan. 1, 2018.
The bustling live-wire central business district of downtown McCleary on New Year's morning, 2018.
Hmmm, no one seems to be up and around. Gosh, I wonder why?

Rain Country tablecloth
Half dead, half alive
Nov. 21, 2012. The storefronts from left to right: A dead tavern, a dead cafe, an office space of uncertain business, usually real estate or insurance or something like that, and Rain Country restaurant. The third storefront was originally the Post Office from the early 1950s-early 1960s.
This photo was taken nearly four years ago, but the situation remains the same today.

Breakfast coffee at Rain Country
July 5, 2016
In the prehistoric past the Rain Country spot was the town pharmacy and liquor store under Bart Bloom. Then it became a florist shop. Yes, McCleary actually had a florist shop. At some point over two decades ago the slot became a restaurant known as the Rose Garden and has been a food service place under different names ever since although Rain Country has endured for quite awhile.
