Razors and Red Flags
Sept. 28, 2016. An album with McCleary connections. Worth tracking down. Nice to see musicians are still producing work on vinyl-- we old Boomers who still have turntables appreciate it.
Cemetery cemerry-go-round
Sept. 21, 2016. OK, maybe it is just me, but doesn't it seem sort of weird to have a functioning merry-go-round behind the cemetery? Especially since it so isolated from anything else?
I expect Rod Serling, or worse, to step out of the woods any moment.

Underground pig
Sept. 14, 2016. Half of a walnut that fell last year and shaved by a mower. Whenever I see this I think of a pig buried under the ground, breathing only because the end of the snout is above the surface.
Jake Anderson's gate
Sept. 5, 2016. A surly Norwegian bachelor named Jake Anderson owned everything west of current day 4th Street before Henry McCleary arrived. Anderson lived at the top of the "T" at 5th and Oak, and was known to use a boat to get around the cedar swamp that is now the filled-in downtown area. The gate to Anderson's digs was here, on this northernmost block of Main St.
Until recently, the spot where Anderson's gate stood was marked on the sidewalk, but a redo of the area wiped that out. This particular side of the block has been home to some iconic McCleary business establishments in the past: Timbear Cafe, Golden Rule Store, the office of Dr. James Arima, Hankinson Jewelry, Porter Hotel, a movie theater, Pastime Pool Hall, McCleary Pharmacy, just to name a few.

A quiet night
Jan. 18, 2014. Sam's Food Mart. I don't know what the story is on those lights in the sky, so in that sense they truly are unidentified flying objects, or just a lens reflection.
Seattle Seahawks
Jan. 17, 2014. Gordon's joins Seahawks fever as the Super Bowl approaches. Note the football helmet shaped helium balloons competing with Valentine balloons in the background. The town erupted with fireworks when the Seahawks beat Denver that year.
